Today in a class of 2-4 year olds I experimented with a little ball play. This is the first time I have tried this, and the students really enjoyed it. Basically, first I asked them what color ball they wanted (I had a few to choose from) and they each got their ball. Next, I had them imitate me and roll the ball, then stop when I said stop. Then I had them pick up the ball, put it on their head, put it on their shoulders, etc. Simple stuff, but they were following my directions in English and having fun.

Have you tried this?

It would be great to hear from others if you have tried these kinds of games/play in your class. What language did you use? What did the kids learn? etc. Please let us know by posting in the comments. thanks!
