Mark from MES English (again) has a great idea called the Zap Game, you can read all about it here. I took this idea and have been doing something a bit different with my students. First I introduce them to the Halloween flashcards, then on a few of the cards I put a little sticker, which is the “zap” card. Next, we lay all the flashcards upside down on the floor. The students take turns picking up the cards, if they pick one up with no zap sticker, they can keep it. I also make them say the name of the card, “it’s a ghost” etc. We go around a few times, and if the students pick up a card with the zap sticker on it, they have to put all the cards back. It is really simple, and a lot of fun. I have used this game with students age 4 through 12.

The images above are from the MES English free Halloween flash cards. So to play the game, you can download and print those. Then if you want, feel free to get the free download mp3 practice chant and Halloween songs of the same vocab from Dream English here, and then go to 123 Listening for some free worksheets and listening exercises to go along. Sounds like a lesson plan to me!
