Recently in my classes I have been using the song the Wheels on the Bus a lot. The kids really like it, its fun, simple, and has great actions to go along with it. The opening line in my version, “The wheels on the bus go round and round” I have the kids move their arms in a circular motion like wheels. For the warm up in the class I ask them to go slow, then fast, then slow again. They love this. Then I do the same thing with the wipers go swish (arm movement like windshield wipers). For the “people on the bus go up and down” part the students just sit up and down. I generally do the song sitting down.

This is a fun easy warm up song, that I’m sure your students will enjoy. I have put an mp3 of the song, and a pdf of the lyrics as a free download on my new website freeabcsongs.com please check it out, and have fun!
