Today at the end of a class I reviewed opposites with my 4-6 year old students. As mentioned in the other post about opposites, I teach the opposites with actions so the kids really enjoy it. So today we did the usual, big/small, slow/fast, loud/quiet, etc. When we were done practicing, I decided to do a quick opposite drill. I called out the name of the opposite, and the kids did the action and said it. For example, I said, “big, small, fast, slow!” For fun I threw in some other actions like clap your hands, sit down, etc. I gradually sped up the pace of the commands, and the students followed in suit. This is a really fun listening exercise if you have a few minutes left in class, and need something to do.
